Excavations within 3 or 6 metres of an adjoining owner’s property, work to a party structure or construction on the boundary line may require notice to be served by the Building Owner (the party undertaking the work) to the Adjoining Owner (the neighbouring property owner). The exact circumstances are stipulated clearly within the Party Wall Etc. Act 1996.
