Shaun Church & Associates Limited were approached to undertake a schedule of condition of two high rise buildings within Leicester to ascertain their condition. A comprehensive low level survey was undertaken to ascertain all wants of repair at low level, and with the use of a drone operated by a Civil Aviation Authority approved pilot, a comprehensive survey of the buildings at high level was also undertaken. The use of a drone, incorporating a technical analysis of the data by a Chartered Surveyor, identified various wants of repair including structural cracking at high level, defective and loose roof coverings and spalled/loose cement flaunching to the chimney stack circa 138ft high.

This surveying methodology maximised the surveying parameters, ensured that even the highest points of these structures were surveyed comprehensively, introduced a safer solution for the surveying team and also generated cost savings for the client over more traditional methods of working.
